DOCKING AT COPENHAGEN BUSINESS SCHOOL

Updates from the POTENT-X Annual Meeting

On June 5, the POTENT-X crew docked at Copenhagen Business School for its annual reflection — a full-day meeting charting the course for Europe’s ports to become frontrunners in the clean energy transition. With smooth sailing through discussions, insights, and key decisions, the event brought together partners from across the continent to align their compasses and steer the project forward.

The morning tide rolled in with opening remarks that set the coordinates for the day. With a clear view of the agenda ahead, participants were ready to navigate through the project’s latest milestones, chart new waters in collaboration, and sound out future plans. Below are two highlights from the day.

Keynote speech from the Bridge: Steering Toward Decarbonized Ports
The spotlight was turned to Dr. Frederik Schulte of TU Delft, who took the helm as keynote speaker with his presentation, “Dutch Port Decarbonization: The PortCall.Zero Project and Beyond.” His talk made waves with insights into smarter port logistics, using digital tools to reduce emissions and improve vessel timing. The PortCall.Zero project showed how ports can trim their carbon sails and embrace a more efficient, sustainable future.

New Crew on Deck: Welcoming the Advisory Board
In the afternoon watch, the POTENT-X Advisory Board was officially introduced. Members were welcomed aboard, Christian Graulund, research manager at Danfoss was elected as board chair, and an open discussion allowed participants to chart expectations for the board’s role as navigators and lookouts, guiding the project’s broader impact.

THe European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL)

The European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) is an international non-profit association based in Brussels (Belgium) that aims to promote and enhance user-driven innovation ecosystems, more precisely, the Living Labs concept. ENoLL focuses on facilitating knowledge exchange, joint actions, and project partnerships among its +480 members, influencing EU policies, promoting Living Labs, and enabling their implementation worldwide.

The ENoLL network aims to create pan-European experiments and prototypes for new markets, based on the Digital Single Market. It is an open engagement platform where new business models can be co-designed, experimented with, and developed, all based on a quadruple helix approach, creating safety nets for experiments and prototypes with new roles of the public sector as enabler and catalyzer.
